All Saints Petersham and PEC are joining together with Carols in the Park on Saturday the 17th of December. Come along for a great night of singing, teaching and hanging out. Starts at 6pm in Maundrell Park, opposite the church grounds.

Soccer Gala Day Report

Saturday, October the 15. The world awoke to an overcast sky. While many let out a disappointed moan and rolled over in bed for another few hours sleep, 66 ammeter soccer players prepared for battle.

The day consisted of four rounds of clashed between 6 different teams from a mixture of Anglican, Baptist and Independent churches. While all fought valiantly, it was Newtown Anglican who triumphed with a convincing two-nil win over the formidable Petersham Baptist.

Unfortunately, the Petersham Evening Church team made up the rear end or the results table. None could deny the zealous effort of the team though who made up for in heart what they lacked in skill.The day was not a complete loss, however, with plucky performances by many of PEC’s and evidence of emerging soccer talent.

Aside from the occasional quip about the ‘fist will be last’, the day was a marked…

The Holy Spirit

Teleportation. Speaking in Angelic Tongues. Prophesying. Flames atop heads.

The bible has a lot to say about the Holy Spirit, who He is and what He does. But what can we make of it all? Sometimes, it all seems a little too confusing and just plain far-out!

At Petersham Evening Church we care about what the bible says because we know that anything that God says is good and worth knowing. For this reason, we are spending 7 solid Sundays diving in deep to this relevant and intriguing issue and will be answering some of the following questions:

Who is the Holy Spirit? Is He just a force, or something more personal?

What does He want for our lives? Does He even want anything?

If I don't speak in tongues, am I still a Christian?

What's with Acts 8?

Can the Holy Spirit give me the gift of healing?

Women’s Fellowship: Country Roadtrip

The women at PEC will be spending the weekend together by hitting the road, escaping the city and breathing in some fresh air.

We will be visiting an old PEC friend as well as one half of our link missionaries, Melissa Morrison (from Cowra). Get ready for relaxing in Gods beautiful creation, warm sunshine in the afternoons and starry skies in the evening.

Be sure to put it in your diary, ask for time of work and pack your sunglasses.

Women’s Fellowship: Redeeming Singleness

"God has a plan and a purpose of singleness"... Really?! Whether you are single or married, come along to hear how God's word 'redeems' singleness and reveals his good plan and purpose for those of his people who are not married (and may never be!).

Dani Treweek is the Women's Ministry Trainer and Overseer at St Matthias Anglican Church, Centennial Park. Her ministry partnership with FEVA and PEC started 15 years ago and she is really looking forward to sharing God's word with us at PEC Women's Fellowship this Friday.
